Position Overview:
The Director of Global Transportation will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing efficient and cost-effective transportation strategies across our global supply chain. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sourcing, and operations, to ensure seamless logistics processes from our factories to our customers.

What You'll Do:
  • Transportation Strategy and Planning: The Director of Global Transportation will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive transportation strategies that align with the company's omnichannel business objectives and direct-to-factory product development approach. This involves optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing lead times, collaborating with product development, and sourcing teams, and developing and managing transportation budgets.
  • Carrier and Logistics Provider Management: Managing relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers is a critical aspect of this role. The Director of Global Transportation will negotiate contracts and rates to ensure optimal service levels and cost-effectiveness while continuously monitoring and evaluating carrier performance to maintain high standards of service.
  • Transportation Operations Management: Overseeing the end-to-end transportation processes, including inbound logistics from factories, outbound distribution to customers, and reverse logistics, is a key responsibility. The Director of Global Transportation will implement and maintain transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics technologies to enhance visibility, tracking, and reporting capabilities. They will also ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements while monitoring and analyzing transportation KPIs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, such as product development, sourcing, and operations, is crucial for ensuring seamless communication and coordination across departments. The Director of Global Transportation will actively participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to drive overall business success.
  • Continuous Improvement and Reporting: The Director of Global Transportation will continuously identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to optimize the company's transportation operations. Staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies will be essential to driving innovation. Regular reporting on transportation performance and initiatives to senior management will be required to ensure transparency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Building and leading a high-performing transportation team is essential to the success of this role. The Director of Global Transportation will foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence by providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members, encouraging their professional growth and development.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, transportation, business administration, or a related field.
  • minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in transportation and logistics management, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership capacity. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of successfully managing complex, global transportation networks and implementing strategies that optimize cost, service levels, and efficiency.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

Compensation Range: $130,000 - $172,000/year
Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
